Bacterial Vaginosis:

Bacterial Vaginosis:

Bacterial Vaginosis is an infection of the vagina caused due to the prolific growth of bacteria. This condition is characterized by excessive vaginal discharge, and fish-like odor from the vagina. Generally, the discharge from the vagina is gray or white in color and women have burning sensation during urination; however, some women might not experience some of these symptoms. It is said that bacterial vaginosis might be caused due to a lack of naturally occurring bacteria in the vagina; however, women with diabetes are prone to have this condition. Also, women who have multiple sexual partners are prone to this condition. Bacterial vaginosis is diagnosed by tests like physical examination, whiff test, and vaginal pH test. Treatment is provided by antibiotic medication, topical gels, and probiotics.
