Anemia:

Our blood consists of various cells including red blood cells. The red blood cells are made up of hemoglobin. A lack of hemoglobin count or a lack of red blood cells is known as anemia. It can be caused either due to a loss of the produced red blood cells or due to a lack of production of red blood cells. For men, a red blood cell count of below 13. 5 gm/dl is anemic. For women, a red blood cell count of 12 gm/dl and below is anemic. Anemia can be of different types. It can range from iron deficiency anemia, vitamin deficiency anemia, anemia due to some chronic disease, sickle cell anemia, anemia due to bone marrow disease, aplastic anemia, and others. Anemia shows up with symptoms like fatigue, tiredness, paleness, hair loss, palpitations, and shortness of breath, malaise, and decreasing energy. It is generally treated by treating the underlying condition or by giving vitamin or iron supplementation.
