Adult-onset Diabetes:

This is a term formerly used to define type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a variable metabolic disorder that is caused due to family history, lifestyle choices, obesity, genetic predisposition, lack of exercise, age, and other conditions like PCOS. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance, a condition in which the body cannot use the insulin produced by the pancreas. This results in a buildup of glucose in the bloodstream resulting in high blood sugar and a damage to the organs of the body. Symptoms of this condition include excessive urination, excessive thirst and hunger, fatigue, drowsiness, and brain fog. Treatment involves dietary changes, exercise, and medications.
